Prof. Philippe Gugler presented the two recent studies of the Center for Competitiveness 7 at the Entrepreneurial Discovery Workshop (EDW) in July 201 organized by Jacques Bersier and his team (hefr) in Fribourg (1) report on the economic performance of the canton of Fribourg co-written with Damiano Lepori and Mathieu Resbeut, 2) report on the status of cluster development with a focus on bioeconomy in the canton of Fribourg co-written with Julien Bliesener.).
The workshop brought together the cantonal Minister of Economic Affairs, Olivier Curty, local firms (Nespresso, Micarna, Cremo, (...)), cluster managers, innovation centers and institution managers, cantonal authorities, (...). The participants discussed opportunities and challenges for new value chains and transformative activities to be developed in the field of bioeconomy based on the existing capacities and resources in the canton of Fribourg.
