Camilla Bjarnøe Jensen besucht dieses Jahr das DCM im Rahmen des Gressly-Fleck-Stipendiums im Januar und Juni. Sie arbeitet als Postdoc am Zentrum für Journalismus in der Abteilung für Politikwissenschaft an der Universität von Süddänemark. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind die Nutzung von Frames durch Parteien, die Dynamik im Framing und Reframing, deren (de-) mobilisierende Wirkung und die journalistische Rahmenintervention im Wahlkampf. Sie nutzt diese Aufenthalte um zusammen mit Regula Hänggli öffentliche Debatten und ihre Dynamiken auch mit Hilfe von automatisierter Inhaltsanalyse zu untersuchen.  Sie freut sich über eine Kontaktaufnahme  (camillabj@journalism.sdu.dk) um ähnliche Forschungsinteressen zu besprechen oder andere Ideen/Papiere zu diskutieren.

Dr. Deborah Castro from the Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute (MITI, Portugal) visited the DCM for one week as a Post-Doctoral Researcher. She received her Ph.D. in Communication Studies at Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain). Deborah holds a M.A. in Research in Communication and Journalism (UAB) and a B.A. in Journalism (University of Santiago de Compostela). Deborah has contributed to several research projects on the construction of youth and female identities in Spanish television fiction and on the Internet. She has also been a researcher with the Ibero-American Observatory of Television Fiction where she contributed to the study of production, transmission, and reception of television. Currently, Deborah is working on a joint project with Andreas Fahr concerning exposure and effects of excessive media use.

Dr. Erik Koenen hat das Gressly-Fleck-Stipendium des DCM erhalten und wird das Department im Herbst 2018 besuchen. Koenen ist wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (Postdoc) am Zentrum für Kommunikations-, Medien- und Informationswissenschaft (ZeMKI) der Universität Bremen im Arbeitsbereich „Kommunikationsgeschichte und Medienwandel“. Er forscht insbesondere zur Fach- und Theoriegeschichte der Kommunikationswissenschaft, Kommunikations- und Mediengeschichte (speziell des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts), Kommunikations- und Medientheorie sowie Soziologie der Kommunikation. Seine Dissertation (Dr. phil.) an der Universität Leipzig wurde 2016 mit dem Nachwuchsförderpreis der Fachgruppe Kommunikationsgeschichte der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Publizistik- und Kommunikationswissenschaft (DGPuK) ausgezeichnet. Im Rahmen seines Habilitationsprojekts wechselt er in das DFG-Projekt „Transnationale Kommunikationsgeschichte des Völkerbundes“. Im Zusammenhang mit diesem Projekt sowie mit Blick auf weitere Forschungsvorhaben erfolgt auch sein Aufenthalt am DCM im Herbst 2018.

Dr. Mariano Dagatti received a 3-month international visiting scholarship of the University of Fribourg for a joint research project together with Diana Ingenhoff. Mariano is professor of Media Semiotics & Politics and Mediatization in Communication Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences (University of Buenos Aires). Funded by the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET), he is also affiliated researcher at the National University of Quilmes, in the Center for Society & Economics Research (IESAC). His different researches are oriented to the analysis of the relation between political field and media system in contemporary Argentina. The joint project at the DMC aims to take the first steps towards a study of the Swiss Confederation-Argentine relationship from a bilateral perspective.  

The main objectives of his two-month research stay in Fribourg are (i) to analyze the construction of Argentina's current reputation in Swiss Confederation; (ii) to explore the devices and mechanisms of construction of Switzerland’s country image, taking into account different domains (official documents, tourism policy, representations of the press); and (iii) to explore the mechanisms to promote the country image of Argentina in Switzerland, taking into account the commercial, cultural and tourist promotion actions of different Argentine institutions and organizations based in Switzerland (i. e. the Argentine Embassy in Swiss Confederation, the Argentine Chancellery in Swiss Confederation, etc.).
