The iimt at the 5th Smart Urban Policy Futures Workshop and the Exploratory Workshop on the Technology/Culture Interrelationship

As part of its commitment to present and disseminate leading-edge research across the international scientific community, the iimt was represented at the 5th Smart Urban Policy Futures Workshop (SUPF V) by Yves Hertig and Dr Anton Sentic. The conference took place from July 9th to July 11th 2018 at the University of Greenwich in London, UK, with the first two days being dedicated to research presentations, discussions and keynote lectures and the third conference day consisting of site visits to the Transport of London Museum and the Borough Market. Yves and Anton presented current findings on prospects for prosumer cooperation in Crowd Energy systems, which were well-received by the audience and let to a round of further discussions, including potential future collaborations.  Following this event, Anton remained in London in order to attend a second event, the 2nd Exploratory Workshop on the Technology/Culture Interrelationship, organised by the Greenwich Political Economy Research Centre and the sustainability, technology and innovation research group on July 12th, also at the University of Greenwich. At this workshop, Anton presented initial findings from an ongoing analysis of the smart living lab, conceptualised as an innovation niche containing a network of actors (researchers). Participants at this workshop included academics from the University of Greenwich, Kingston University, Queen Mary, University of London and a delegation from the Universiti Sains, Malaysia and the City of Penang.
