From September 2018 until August 2019 the Department of Economics welcomes Dr. Mario Songane, PhD. During his stay, he will work with Prof. Dr. Volker Grossmann on the interdisciplinary project "Alternative strategies to reduce vaccine prices and promote vaccine R&D for African countries". During this time, he is financed by the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship.
In 2015, Dr. Songane received his doctoral degree in medicine ("Innate Immunity and Infection") from the University College of London, UK. Before, he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the Eduardo Mondlane University (Mozambique) in 2006 and obtained a Master of Research in Biomedicine from the University College London in 2010. Before coming to the University of Fribourg, he gained professional experienceas a Postdoctoral researcher at McGill University (Canada); 2017-2018.
