From February 8-19 2021, the Chair of Applied Econometrics and Evaluation of Public Policies organized the first “Fribourg Winter School in Data Analytics and Machine Learning”, which provided courses in quantitative tools for predictive and causal analysis like regression, machine learning, text analysis, and deep learning with examples in the software packages “Python”, “R”, and “Knime”. 

Due to the Covid19 situation, the courses took place fully online, but nevertheless attracted more than 100 participants from different universities, the public sector, and companies in Switzerland, Europe, and even China. Given this high interest, the next winter school will take place from February 7-18 2022 – this time hopefully in presence at the SES faculty.
