The Chair is very glad to welcome PhD student and graduate assistant Margot Monnier, who started July 1st, 2025. She previously completed her Master in Management at the University of Lausanne (HEC), specializing in strategy and sustainability. Afterwards, she worked for 18 months as a sustainability consultant in Geneva. In her mandates, she worked mostly on sustainability trainings and workshops, sustainability reporting, as well as the implementation of sustainability strategies for Swiss SMEs.
Margot’s research focuses on emerging sustainability strategies that, beyond more traditional CSR strategies, represent nature and future generations within corporate governance structures. Her work explores the organizational mechanisms by which companies integrate non-human actors (forests, biodiversity, oceans, etc.) as stakeholders or shareholders. She is also interested in the impact of those measures on corporate culture and individual behavior in society.
Her research lies at the intersection of corporate governance and stakeholder theories, the Rights of Nature and political ecology, environmental psychology and organizational culture.
