The Chair<\/a> is very glad to welcome PhD student and graduate assistant Margot Monnier, who started July 1st, 2025. She previously completed her Master in Management at the University of Lausanne (HEC), specializing in strategy and sustainability. Afterwards, she worked for 18 months as a sustainability consultant in Geneva.\u00a0In her mandates, she worked mostly on sustainability trainings and workshops, sustainability reporting, as well as the implementation of sustainability strategies for Swiss SMEs.\u00a0 Publication Awards New positions S\u00e9bastien was also appointed on the Board of Directors of Council of the Interdisciplinary Institute of Ethics and Human Rights<\/a> of the University of Fribourg. <\/span><\/p>\n
<\/span>Margot’s research focuses on emerging sustainability strategies that, beyond more traditional CSR strategies,\u00a0represent\u00a0nature and future generations within corporate governance structures. Her work explores the organizational\u00a0mechanisms by which companies integrate non-human actors (forests, biodiversity, oceans, etc.) as stakeholders or shareholders. She is also interested in\u00a0the\u00a0impact of those\u00a0measures\u00a0on corporate culture and individual behavior in society.\u00a0\u00a0
<\/span>Her research lies at the intersection of corporate governance and stakeholder theories, the Rights of Nature and political ecology, environmental psychology and organizational culture.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
<\/span><\/strong>Together with colleagues, Prof. S\u00e9bastien Mena just published an article entitled \u2018Expert Memories: The Professional Construction of the Past and the Mnemonic Making of Occupations<\/a>\u2019 in the Journal of Management Studies. <\/em>This article also serves as the introduction to the special issue on \u2018Occupations and Memory in Organization Studies\u2019. <\/span><\/p>\n
<\/span><\/strong>Prof. S\u00e9bastien Mena was presented with two reviewer awards this summer. He received the Academy of Management Review <\/em>Outstanding Reviewer Award and the Organization Studies<\/em> Reviewer Award. <\/span><\/p>\n
<\/span><\/strong>Prof. S\u00e9bastien Mena was appointed as panel member on one of the Swiss National Science Foundation Postdoc.Mobility Evaluation Panel for the social sciences and humanities<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n
