She is a student in the Master in Management at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences, University of Fribourg.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conferences and presentations of Prof. S\u00e9bastien Mena<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Research colloquium in sociology,<\/strong> <strong>Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Lucerne, March 17, 2026. <\/strong>S\u00e9bastien presented his research agenda and papers on democracy and organizations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS) Online Colloquium, July 9-11, 2026: <\/strong>S\u00e9bastien Mwill convene the sub-theme <span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.egos.org\/jart\/prj3\/egos\/main.jart?rel=de&amp;reserve-mode=active&amp;content-id=1756645686117&amp;subtheme_id=1733175519017\">Social Movements, Alternative Organizations, and the Democratization of the Economy<\/a><\/span> together with Simone Schiller-Merkens (Witten\/Herdecke University) and\u00a0Philip Balsiger (Universit\u00e9 de Neuch\u00e2tel).<\/li>\n<li><strong>SASE 2026 conference at Sciences Po Bordeaux, France, July 1-4, 2026<\/strong>. The paper \u2018Political innovation: How intermediary organizations enhance democratic agency\u2019 by Johanna Mair (EUI), S\u00e9bastien Mena and Melisa \u00d6zcelik (Hertie School) was accepted for presentation in Network A: Community, Democracy, and Organizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PhD examinations<br \/><\/strong>S\u00e9bastien Mena was on the committee of two doctoral students this Spring:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nik Ulrich defended his dissertation entitled Re-entry in foreign markets: A Multi-Level Analysis of Antecedents, Mechanisms, and Performance at the University of Fribourg on May 8.<\/li>\n<li>Fenja Nolting defended her dissertation entitled Organizations, Institutions, and Societal Challenges &#8211; A study of organized efforts addressing institutional pathologies at the Hertie School of Governance, Berlin, Germany on June 9.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>New position<br \/><\/strong>S\u00e9bastien Mena has been appointed as Commentaries Editor (previously Associate Editor) at the journal <em>Business &amp; Society<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Publications <br \/><\/strong>S\u00e9bastien Mena edited, together with three international colleagues, the Edward Elgar <span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.e-elgar.com\/shop\/gbp\/handbook-of-research-on-sustainability-and-governance-9781035328031.html\">Handbook of Research on Sustainability and Governance<\/a><\/span>, that came out in March 2026.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mena, S., Inoue, C.Y.A., Amaeshi, K. &amp; Jayaram, D. 2026.
